What the execution data shows
- The open was sharp. #1 ES took 6.75 of 7.25 points (93%) on 1 point of heat. #2 ES took 5.75 points in 86 seconds with zero heat, a 100% capture.
- After #2, ES kept running to 7,897.5, another 19.5 points. I was right on that move but out of it.
- #8 ES went long at 7,893.25, about 4 points under the day’s high. A second contract was added 1.75 points lower, and the trade was never more than about 1 point green. It closed after exactly one hour at 7,877.75, for −14.6 points on 2 lots. That one trade cost 1.4 times all seven winners combined.
- #7 NQ took 21 points of heat for a −16 point loss and was never meaningfully green.
- #3 ES on 3 lots sat through 7.8 points of heat for a 1.2-point win.
Takeaway
The edge was in the first hour: small size, quick exits, clean entries off the lows. After 11:30 the entries moved up near the highs, and #8 added to a loser instead of cutting it. A hard 5-point stop on #8 would have made this roughly a +$270 day. Stopping after the first account’s run would have made it +$765.
