What the execution data shows
- #1 NQ was the trade of the night: 19 of a 23-point move (83%) on 8.5 points of heat. I exited at 29,799.50, four points from the session high of 29,803.50.
- The smallest position made the most money. #1 on 2 lots earned more than #2 and #4 combined on 4 lots each.
- #4 NQ was averaged down. The fill data shows the first fill at 29,765.75 and a second about 11 points lower, for a 29,760.13 average. The exit at 29,765.00 was below the first fill, so the add is what made the trade green. It’s the same pattern as #2 on October 15, on a smaller scale.
- #2 and #3 ES made 2.4 and 0.75 points on 4 and 2 lots. The journal has no excursion data for #2, #3 or #4.
Takeaway
The read was right, and I was flat before the selloff, which is good discipline. My best result came from my cleanest, smallest trade. The habit to watch is adding to positions that go against me. It has worked twice this week, and it’s the same move behind my biggest losses in the log.
