Scott’s List · charting platform review
The short version. The charting platform the VWAP Wave System is taught on, with the indicator ecosystem that makes it possible to see the system the way Chris sees it. Every chart on this site and in my group is a TradingView chart.

What it is
TradingView is a browser and desktop charting platform with a free tier and paid plans that add more indicators per chart, more layouts, and faster data. Its Pine Script language means anyone can write an indicator and publish it, which is how the VWAP Wave System Toolkit exists and how my own session VWAP and Initial Balance scripts exist. Chris teaches on it, the Discord streams it, and the free Core Setup Guide assumes it.
The facts at a glance
- Free plan with ads and a limited number of indicators per chart; paid plans lift the indicator limit, add multi-chart layouts, and add real-time data options.
- Pine Script for custom indicators; a public library of scripts including the VWAP Wave System Toolkit.
- Runs in a browser, as a desktop app, and on mobile, with layouts synced.
- Trading integrations with Tradovate and others for order entry from the chart.
- Real-time futures data is a paid add-on on top of the plan.

How it fits the VWAP Wave System
Non-negotiable for this system, in my opinion, because the shared language of the community is the TradingView chart. When someone in the room says “backtest of the plus-one band”, you need to be looking at the same band, drawn the same way. The indicator limit on the free plan is the thing that will push you to a paid tier: VWAP with bands, session profile, Initial Balance, and a higher-timeframe VWAP already uses it up.

Verdict
Start on the free plan to learn, budget for the tier that lets you run the full VWAP Wave chart, and add the CME data feed. It’s the one subscription I’d never cut.
