What the execution data shows
- Trade #1 was the day’s whole problem. A 2-lot NQ short from 29,505.75 at 10:22 AM, held 29 minutes, six times my average hold. It was 21.75 points green at its best and I never took it. It then ran 44.5 points against me before I covered at −40.5. That single trade cost more than half of what all ten winners made.
- The next two trades were the best of the day. #2 short (+11.75 points, 92% capture) and #3 long (+23.25 points) at 11:20 and 11:23 AM banked +$1,387.60 in under five minutes of market time. #3 kept running to +46.75 points; I took half. That’s fine. The point is that my best entries came right after the big loss, not before it.
- Longs were perfect, shorts were the leak. Seven for seven on the long side. The three losers were all NQ shorts, and two of them (#1 and #6) took 44.5 and 17.5 points of heat and were never meaningfully green. #11 was the one that got away: up roughly 9 points before closing at −1.88.
- ES was a clean five for five. Small size, small heat (nothing over 3.25 points), 42 to 83% capture. Nothing dramatic, all positive.
- Heat on winners was well controlled outside of #8 (17.6 points of heat on a 4-lot for a +5.6 win) and #5 (9.75 points of heat for +1.00). Those two were right on direction but early on timing.
Takeaway
Ten of thirteen right, every long a winner, and ES flawless. The only thing standing between +$600 and +$2,200 was one short in the first hour that was allowed to run 44 points against a 2-lot. Same story as September 2: the losses aren’t coming from bad reads, they’re coming from the one trade per day that doesn’t get a stop.
