What the execution data shows

  • The NQ short read was strong all night. NQ fell from 29,855 to the 29,730s. #12 took 12 points in 17 seconds on half a point of heat, a 94% capture. #8 took 16 points in under a minute, an 86% capture.
  • ES didn’t follow. It chopped between 7,760 and 7,772 while NQ trended, and all three losers were ES shorts that barely went green. #6 never did, #7 went 1 point green, and #11 half a point.
  • #10 NQ was averaged up again. The fill data shows a first fill at 29,785.50 and an add about 14 points higher. Price then ran to 29,826.25, 41 points against the first fill, before the trade worked. That’s the third time this week, after October 15 and October 19.
  • #11 ES lost $231 on the same accounts five minutes after #10 closed. It was the largest loss of the night.

Takeaway

NQ and gold were trending, ES wasn’t. Shorting ES alongside NQ turned a +$2,600 night into +$2,342. When ES isn’t confirming the NQ move, skip it. And three nights of adding to a short that’s running against me is now a pattern, not a one-off.
