What the execution data shows
- #1 sold 7,629.75 at 6:17 PM, seventeen minutes after the reopen, into a dip from 7,636.25. Three minutes later price was back at 7,635 and the stop was gone, −$506.20 on the pair. The only short of the night and the only loser.
- #2 went long at 7,635 at 6:24 PM, the top of a small range, and took 5.75 points of heat to 7,629.25 before it worked. The second lot went on at 7,632.25 in the middle of that heat, then ES ran to 7,644.50 and both lots came off at 7,642 and 7,642.75. Twenty-one minutes, +$1,737.60 on the pair, and the add made more than the first lot.
- #3 bought NQ at 28,682.25 and 28,678.50 as it bounced off 28,647, and was flat 33 seconds later at 28,682.75 and 28,683.50 for +$207.60 on the pair. The next bar dropped 25 points, so the fast exit was the right one.
- #4 bought ES at 7,645 at 6:53 PM, a tick above the session high, held through a 3.5-point dip and took three ticks ten minutes later. +$68.80 on the pair, the longest hold of the scalps and the smallest result.
- #5 bought the pullback in NQ at 28,701.25, sixteen points under the fresh high, and was out 6.25 points higher 24 seconds later, +$243.80 on the pair. The next bar fell 15 points. Done at 7:07 PM.
Takeaway
The reopen set the direction, up, and four of the five trades went with it. The short against it was the leak: 5 points, gone in three minutes. The 2-lot ES long carried the night, and it carried it by adding into 5.75 points of heat, which is the same habit that cost $2,100 on Thursday and paid here. That is now five adds for and one against; the one against still cost more than any of the five made. The scalps were clean: both NQ exits were followed by 15 and 25-point drops the next bar.
