Scott’s List · prop firm review

The short version. A newer US futures prop firm with a simple rulebook: end-of-day trailing drawdown, a percentage-based daily loss limit and profit target, evaluation and instant-funding tracks, and daily payouts once you’re funded.

Evidence level: Researched; my own notes to follow.

What it is

Top One Futures offers evaluation and instant-funding accounts on CME futures through NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and Rithmic, with simulated funded accounts from 25K to 150K. The team has been around since 2023 and launched the firm formally in 2025. The rules are expressed as percentages of account size rather than fixed dollars, which makes comparing account sizes unusually easy, and the headline feature is payout frequency.

The facts at a glance

  • End-of-day trailing drawdown that locks once you clear the starting balance plus a buffer.
  • Rules as percentages: roughly a 4% trailing drawdown, a 2% daily loss limit, and a 6% profit target.
  • Evaluation fees from around fifty to a few hundred dollars depending on size, with resets available.
  • Daily payouts available once funded, with a minimum request size and a minimum number of trading days first.
  • Platform choice: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, or Rithmic-based platforms.

Figures are as published at the time of writing and change without notice. Read the current terms on the company’s own site before you pay for anything.

How it fits the VWAP Wave System

A locking end-of-day drawdown is the most forgiving structure a discretionary trader can ask for: once you’ve built the buffer, the threshold stops chasing you and the system can be traded as designed. A 2% daily loss limit on a 50K account is a thousand dollars, which is tighter than it sounds on an NQ trend day. Size for the daily limit, not the drawdown.

Scott’s notes

This section is mine to write and I’d rather leave it short than pad it. My own experience with Top One Futures, what surprised me, what I’d warn you about, and the rules I trade it under are coming here. Until then, the facts above are public and the fit section is my read as a VWAP Wave trader.

Verdict

Provisional, pending my own notes: clean rules and fast payouts are exactly what a process trader wants. The daily limit is the constraint that decides your contract size; respect it and the rest of the rulebook is quiet.
